# Medical Disclaimer

*Created: August 01, 2026*\
*Updated: August 16, 2026*

> ⚠️ Please read this disclaimer carefully before using Oculoris.

### 1. Not a Medical Device

Oculoris is a general wellness and eye fitness application. It is **NOT a medical device**, has **NOT been evaluated or approved by the FDA** or any other regulatory body as a medical device, and does **NOT** provide medical diagnosis, treatment, therapy, or prescription of any kind.

The exercises, content, and features in Oculoris — including but not limited to eye tracking, vision exercises, convergence training, accommodation drills, blink training, reaction time measurements, and gamification — are designed for general eye wellness, visual comfort, and fitness purposes only.

### 2. No Doctor-Patient Relationship

Use of Oculoris does not establish a doctor-patient relationship between you and Oculoris, its developers, or any associated optometrist or healthcare professional. Oculoris does not employ or contract with licensed medical professionals to provide medical advice through the app.

Jeremy Morris, OD, is a licensed optometrist. However, his role as the creator of Oculoris does not constitute a clinical relationship with any user. The app reflects general principles of vision science and optometric knowledge — not individualized medical advice.

### 3. Consult Your Eye Doctor

Always consult a qualified eye care professional (optometrist or ophthalmologist) for any vision concerns, symptoms, or before beginning any new eye exercise program. This is especially important if you have:

* A diagnosed eye condition (glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, etc.)
* A history of eye surgery or eye injury
* Sudden changes in vision, double vision, or visual field loss
* Eye pain, persistent headaches, or unusual visual symptoms
* Strabismus (eye turn), amblyopia (lazy eye), or convergence insufficiency
* Any neurological condition affecting vision
* Pregnancy (hormonal changes can affect vision)

### 4. Exercise Safety

Stop exercising immediately and consult your eye doctor if you experience:

* Eye pain or discomfort
* Headaches triggered by or worsening during exercises
* Double vision that persists after the exercise
* Dizziness, nausea, or motion sickness
* Blurred vision that does not clear within a few minutes
* Flashing lights, new floaters, or any unusual visual phenomena

Perform exercises in a well-lit environment. Take breaks between sessions. Do not exercise while driving or operating machinery. The camera-based eye tracking feature should not be used while walking or moving.

### 5. Prescription & Vision Data

You may enter your eyeglass or contact lens prescription information into Oculoris for your own reference. This data is stored locally on your device and in your account. Oculoris does **NOT** generate, modify, or validate prescriptions. Never use Oculoris as a substitute for a comprehensive eye examination or professional refraction.

### 6. Research & Claims

Oculoris cites peer-reviewed research to explain the scientific principles underlying its exercises. These citations describe general findings in vision science — they do **NOT** constitute clinical validation of the Oculoris app itself. Individual results vary. The exercises are based on established principles of oculomotor training, vergence therapy, accommodative facility, and visual-cognitive integration, but their delivery through a mobile app has not been evaluated in controlled clinical trials.

### 7. Children & COPPA

Oculoris complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Users under 13 must have parental consent for account creation. No eye-tracking data from children is stored on external servers. Parents should supervise their children's use of the app and consult a pediatric optometrist for any vision concerns.

### 8. Limitation of Liability

**TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OCULORIS AND ITS CREATORS, DEVELOPERS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APPLICATION. THIS INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO EYE INJURY, VISION LOSS, OR ANY HEALTH-RELATED ISSUES.**

You assume full responsibility for your use of Oculoris. Use the app responsibly, listen to your body, and stop if anything feels wrong.
